When the Conference Ends, the Work Within Continues

A reflection on protecting what God revealed, minimizing distractions and continuing the journey beyond Woman Within 2026.

As women, it is almost unsettling how easy it is to become consumed with nurturing the responsibilities, and expectations around us. We pour into our families, careers, ministries, friendships, and communities so consistently that somewhere along the way, our own identity becomes blurred. We begin showing up looking fine on the outside while quietly feeling disconnected on the inside. We learn how to perform wellness while neglecting wholeness.

The Woman Within Conference was created to interrupt that rhythm and give women permission to pause, turn inward, and become still enough to hear what God may be saying beneath the title of woman.

We created an authentic atmosphere for space for worship, honest conversation, laughter, tears, reflection, and the kind of vulnerability that becomes possible when we realize we are not the only ones carrying something beneath the surface. For some women, God brought clarity. For others, conviction, encouragement, or confirmation. Whatever the experience looked like individually, my prayer was always that it would become more than a beautiful day together.

Because eventually, we all had to return home.

We returned to families, careers, ministries, relationships, calendars, responsibilities, and all the other things that require our attention. And while none of those things are inherently bad, they can very quickly become loud enough to drown out what God revealed when we finally became still enough to listen.

That is why I believe what happens after the experience matters just as much as what happens during the experience.

One of the thoughts I shared during Woman Within 2026 was:

“The enemy doesn’t have to convince us to destroy our temples if he can simply get us distracted enough to neglect them.”

Neglect is often much more subtle than destruction. It can happen gradually as we become consumed with meeting deadlines, caring for others, responding to needs, and simply keeping life moving. Before long, the very things we felt convicted to tend to are once again pushed to the bottom of the list.

This is where doing the work within becomes more than a conference theme or an inspiring moment. It becomes a practice.

As you continue your own journey, I want to encourage you to hold on to four things we discussed:

1. Identify and minimize distractions.

Pay attention to what consistently pulls you away from God, your peace, and the areas He has called you to nurture. Not everything demanding your attention deserves access to it.

2. Prioritize quality time with the Lover of your soul.

Before the titles, responsibilities, expectations, and accomplishments, you are deeply LOVED and SEEN by God. I love that God never calls us by our names or titles, but how He sees and how heaven acknowleges us. We get to know more about God, His desires for us and the things that grieve Him when we spend quality time in His presence. Make room to simply be with Him. Not because you need something from Him, but because relationship with Him is the foundation for everything else.

3. Address the heart blockers keeping you stuck.

Some things cannot be solved by becoming busier, more productive, or more accomplished. Give God permission to reveal what needs to be released, restored, forgiven, confronted, or healed.

4. Allow your Woman Within to live authentically.

Consider who you are beyond everyone else’s expectations. There is a woman within you who deserves to be nurtured...not only the wife, mother, professional, leader, caregiver, friend, or ministry worker. Allow God to continue introducing you to her.

To every woman who has trusted this ministry with a piece of her journey: thank you. Thank you for your vulnerability, your openness and your willingness to show up for yourself and allow God to love on your woman within.

God is still doing a work within you.
